Alisa France

As Assistant Director of College Success, Alisa leads the College Success team in overseeing programming and support mechanisms for college-aged Fellows. The team ensures that Fellows successfully transition to college, navigate to graduation and post-graduate pursuits, and finally, build connections to the alumni community. Her scope of work includes budget management, data analysis, program & curriculum development, facilitation, and creating systems of one-on-one counseling. Alisa has led many conversations at various speaking engagements and conference presentations around equity, inclusion and social justice in higher education and organizational leadership. Since joining OppNet full-time, Alisa has served in many capacities, supporting the full program team in multiple aspects of programming, from recruitment to session instruction.

Prior to OppNet, she served as a dual-department intern at the National Education Association and the Government Affairs Assistant at Destination D.C., Washington, D.C.’s convention and visitors’ bureau. Alisa holds a M.A. in Education Policy from Teachers College, Columbia University, and B.A. in Political Science from Howard University. Through her experiences, Alisa exhibits her passion for social justice and equity in higher education, and the autonomy and leadership of students from historically and systematically underrepresented communities. Alisa is an alumna of the Student Success Network's Innovates Fellowship and Princeton AlumniCorps Emerging Leaders program, and currently serves on the Counseling & Advising task force for #DegreesNYC. With a background in and passion for performing arts, Alisa is a story-teller, maximizer, and creator.
