Our Programs

Our founding OppNet Fellows program has guided underrepresented high school students across New York City to college and career success since 2003. Since then, the Fellows program has grown from serving ten students to over 1,100 each school year.

During the six-year program, Fellows are able to gain skills in networking, academic habits, professional know-how, interviewing, and self-advocacy. Through a unique program structure integrating college guidance, transition, and success with professional exposure, career development, and five summers of paid internships or enrichment experiences, Fellows leave OppNet with robust resumes and lifelong networks of support ready to drive their personal and professional success forward.

We believe that all students can lead lives full of long-term success after high school, and we know that organizations across the city and country are working hard to achieve this goal. With this conviction, and in response to steady inquiries from schools, youth-serving nonprofits, and funders, OppNet launched the Career Fluency^® Partnerships program to amplify postsecondary outcomes for partner institutions.

We work closely with partners to train their teachers, guidance counselors, and staff to tailor and deliver our Career Fluency^® curriculum, building each partner’s own institutional capacity to achieve desired goals for the students they serve.
