OppNet Class of 2015

Y-Lan Nguyen

Y-Lan has been part of the executive team at Veripad, a health technology company, since 2016, and has already won financial or in-kind support from Google, Merck and BNY Mellon. Veripad produces a smartphone app and chemical test pad to combat the spread of counterfeit medication worldwide.

"OppNet was instrumental in showing me that I had many options and many career paths to choose between. You enabled me to be comfortable doing something that’s different."

OppNet Class of 2016

Daniel Card

Guided by OppNet to internships at Broadway Media, Viacom, and AE Networks, Daniel was able to deepen his passion for media and film to launch his career as a video editor at VICE – where his work was recently recognized with a Webby Award!

"The big message I want to spread is that life can be difficult at times, and you may not always get what you want. But keep pushing forward because you will never know what blessings will come if you don't try. OppNet pushed me to become better than I thought I could. It's led me to winning a Posse Full Tuition Scholarship, building my resume, and eventually getting this job. Despite my hardships, OppNet was there to back me up and keep pushing."

OppNet Class of 2014

Titi Oshinaya

"I graduated from UPenn in May 2014, and I sometimes pinch myself because it wasn’t that long ago that I had never heard of 'Wharton.' I’m now working at 20th Century Fox within the film Deal Analysis group, and I was recently promoted to Senior Financial Analyst. I work on financial models and risk analysis for every film Fox and its subsidiaries distribute, and am part of the decision-making process from inception to the big screen.

I thank OppNet for showing me a life and a career path I never would have been exposed to and goals for myself that I was capable of accomplishing but never would have dreamed of achieving before. OppNet literally opened my eyes."
