Candace is the Director of Employee Effectiveness and Development at Cincinnati Public Schools where she oversees performance management, career development, and retention for 6,500 employees. Prior to moving to Cincinnati, Candace spent nearly 15 years in New York City working in education. Previously, she was the senior director of student services at Relay Graduate School of Education where she oversaw program operations and student advisement. She has also served as chief of staff in the Office of Academics at the NYC Department of Education and was the founding chief operating officer at Capital Preparatory Schools. Candace began her career as a Teach For America corps member and taught ninth grade math in Brooklyn. She holds a BA in Economics and International Studies from the University of Chicago, an MS in Teaching from Pace University, and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.
Candace has been an OppNet volunteer since 2011 working with Fellows through speed networking, college essay coaching, and the college mentorship program.
