Emmanuel Moses

As Associate Director of College Guidance and Transition, Emmanuel leads the College Guidance & Transition (CGT) Team in its individualized counseling of Fellows through the college application and matriculation processes, from their 12th grade year through the course of their first year in college. This support ranges from empowering Fellows to find their "best-fit" college, coordinating standardized testing preparation in alignment with the needs and strengths of each Fellow, and the completion and submission of college and financial aid applications, as well as thoughtful guidance and coaching through admission packages to determine if they align with a Fellow's "financial fit." After this process, Emmanuel leads the CGT team in designing experiences and learning workshops to develop critical skills for Fellows for a successful college transition. Before joining The Opportunity Network, Emmanuel served as a National College Advising Corps Adviser during its early years in New York City. In this capacity, he established a college-going culture within an underserved New York City public high school, supporting nearly 140 students per year. Since entering the college access space as a member of the Corps, Emmanuel has found a variety of ways to increase his knowledge surrounding the ever-changing landscape and build ways to make an impact in it. He is currently serving his second term as Treasurer for the College Access Consortium of New York and has been part of the College Advising Corps Alumni Council since its inception. Emmanuel also serves on several planning committees and advisory councils, such as the Coalition (for College) Counselor's Community Leadership Council. Emmanuel received his B.S. in Secondary English Education and his M.A. in Sociology of Education, both from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University.
