Jonelle Carrera

As Senior Director of Development, Institutional Giving, Jonelle helps lead OppNet’s institutional giving team research funding opportunities, write proposals and reports, cultivate new and existing funding relationships, and liaise with its program teams. She began her career as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at Teatro del Pueblo, writing grants and assisting in the creation of its educational programming. Jonelle first joined OppNet’s development team in 2011 as its Development Assistant and was promoted to Development Coordinator, participating in all areas of fundraising and cultivation, including overseeing its annual Night of Opportunity gala, leading its volunteer engagement program, and managing its donor database. She returned to OppNet in 2019 after working as a freelance writer, tutor, and event consultant. Jonelle holds a B.A. in history from Carleton College.
