Rachel Weisz is an Academy Award-winning actress. She produced and starred in the film Disobedience alongside Rachel McAdams and Alessandro Nivola, directed by Sebastián Lelio. She has starred in The Mercy, directed by James Marsh and co-starring Colin Firth, and The Favourite, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and featuring Emma Stone, Olivia Colman, and Nicholas Hoult.
In 2005, Rachel earned a Screen Actors Guild Award, Golden Globe Award, and the Academy Award for her performance in Fernando Meirelles’ The Constant Gardener. In 2012, she received a Golden Globe nomination and Best Actress awards from The New York Film Critics Circle and the Toronto Film Critics Association for her performance in The Deep Blue Sea.
Rachel’s diverse film work includes Black Widow, My Cousin Rachel, Denial, The Light Between Oceans, The Lobster, The Whistleblower, About a Boy, and Constantine. In addition to her work in film, Rachel has starred in Mike Nichols’ Broadway production of Betrayal with her husband Daniel, The Public Theater’s off-Broadway production of Plenty, and earned the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress for her performance as Blanche DuBois in the West End revival of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire.
Rachel has a B.A. from Trinity Hall, a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. She joined the OppNet Board of Directors in 2016 and was honored at Variety Magazine’s 2015 Power of Women luncheon for her leadership and work with OppNet.
