Shirley Lin is a 2023 OppNet alum. Shirley attended Williams College and studied Economics and Chinese. Shirley currently works as a Financial Analyst at Houlihan Lokey, a middle-market investment bank. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, exploring new cafes, and spending quality time with loved ones.
Why she joined the ALC: I wanted to join the Alumni Leadership Council because I love the OppNet community and hope to continue fostering that sense of community for alumni!
One of her favorite books: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo.
Why it’s her favorite book: I read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane in the fifth grade. I remember being enthralled by the storyline and looking forward to reading each chapter. The story is about a porcelain rabbit who gets separated from his owner and learns how to love and receive love over time. I love this book because it teaches such a simple yet important lesson while the protagonist goes on a long and unexpected journey.
