Stephanie Inga is a 2019 OppNet alum. She graduated from Boston University in 2015 with a degree in Biological Anthropology and a double minor in Criminal Justice and Archaeology. After working at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Stephanie pursued a career change and started a Direct-Entry Master’s Nursing Program in 2022 at MGH Institute of Health Professions. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2023 and works as an Inpatient Oncology nurse in Boston. She is also continuing in her program to obtain her Master’s Degree in Nursing to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Why she joined the ALC: I joined the ALC to expand outreach to OppNet alumni while also reconnecting with all other OppNet classes to create a closer community. I want to be involved in events that highlight the wonderful spirit of the OppNet community.
One of her favorite books: Big Panda and Tiny Dragon by James Norbury
Why it’s her favorite book: Big Panda and Tiny Dragon is one of my favorite books because of the messages it conveys through the friendship between a dragon and a panda. This book resonates with me because, as a full-time student and a full-time nurse, I admit that I tend to forget the simpler things in life. It reminds me to slow down, remember the little things, find my own happiness, and use my inner strength to overcome obstacles.
