Varun is Managing Partner at Hakluyt, a leading strategic advisory firm that supports large corporations and investors on complex commercial issues. He previously worked for a former UK Prime Minister, advising on matters relating to political economy as well as helping to build a commercial consultancy focused on originating and executing cross-border transactions. He began his career as an investment banker in London; helped found two companies; and advised a former UK Foreign Secretary on economic issues.
Varun founded OppNet’s Associate Board of Directors in 2017, and served as the group’s first Chair. A former governor of a London primary school, he currently sits on the board of a number of commercial and not-for-profit boards, with an emphasis on education, technology and agriculture. Varun is a graduate of the University of Oxford, and holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
